History:
Benjamin and Adele met at a mutual acquaintances 21st birthday party. They chatted for a while and with a lot of help from alcohol they ended up sleeping together, about a month and a half later Adele realised she was pregnant. Her parents were furious, especially since she could barely remember the guys name and had no idea how to contact him. The mutual friend was fortunately able to provide the number of Ben and he, being the amicable man he is, proposed (a decision made easier by the threats of Adele's parents). It was a shot gun wedding and Adele and (dad) barely had a chance to get to know each other before they were saying their vows. Thankfully they got on well enough and were happy to start a family together. It was the right thing to do, in both their eyes, even if they were missing out on all the things that come with falling in love before getting married. Three months after the wedding, on January 19, Louise Moon was born. Despite being a complete accident Adele and Ben loved her completely and she was raised well. It wasn't until Louise's third birthday that Adele realised she was pregnant again. On August 9th Angela was born. For the short time she had it, she enjoyed the attention she had being the youngest and newest baby and even from this young age would do almost anything to divert attentions from Louise to herself which has resulted in some resentment between the two. Being the youngest didn't last long for Angela because with in the next year her brother, Alexander was born (July 12th). fortunately for Alex Angela took a shine to him and so didn't mind so much that he stole her thunder. The closeness in age meant the two played with each other frequently and got on well, often leaving Louise out of their games. Four years after Alex's birth the last member of the family arrived, another complete accident. Genevieve was born on April 29th and was instantly doted on completely by both parents, especially Ben. Growing up Angela hated her position in the family. She was one of two middle children, with Alex, but she felt as if she was the least special. Louise was the oldest and the first child so she'd always have a special place in the family, Genevieve was the youngest and was spoilt rotten because of it and Alex was the only boy which made him important. She was nothing. This middle child complex caused her to act out and do anything for attention. This became more of an issue when to get attention objects would fly off high shelves and break or one of her sisters hair would become shorter or more colourful during the night. Angela swore she had nothing to do with these instances (except for that one time when she hacked off Genevieve's "long, gorgeous" blonde hair during the night. She did not, however, put the bright green streaks in Louise's hair).

The strange acts of revenge were explained by the arrival of Angela's Hogwarts letter on her 11th birthday. The letter came as a great shock to both Ben and Adele but Angela was just excited that she was finally different and special! It was around this time that her parents started fighting. Adele blamed Ben for Angela being such a freak. Obviously it couldn't come from her family so it had to be his fault. They stayed together until just before the Easter holidays but it seemed the owls home about ghosts and making potions and turning sticks into needles was all a bit much to take for Adele and even though she loved her children, Angela's situation was just too odd for her to cope with. In the end there was a choice between keeping her mother or staying at Hogwarts and for Angela the decision was easy, there was no way she was leaving Hogwarts. Ben and Adele were officially divorced a few months later and Angela's three siblings would visit her every second weekend. Angela got a phone call or an owl on important occasions but otherwise rarely saw or heard from her mother, Louise and Genevieve took Adele's side over Angela's but Alex stuck by Angela and would send long owls containing much complaining about the sisters and the mother. Angela had sort of hoped Alex would also be accepted into Hogwarts but at the same time was glad that he didn't, it made her more special. It didn't take her long at school to realise that people like her weren't very well liked by many people at Hogwarts. She was muggleborn and that was a bad thing. After her mother left the family she started to tell people that her mother was a pureblood and so she was a halfblood. The reason she lived with her muggle dad was because her mother would be disowned if she was known to have half blood kids with a muggle so she had to pretend her mother didn't exist and sometimes had to pretend to be muggleborn. Her siblings were all only half siblings and were completely muggle. Or so her story went. She didn't feel bad about lying; she didn't like her mother anyway. If anyone insulted her muggle brother, however, she would defend him, no matter the cost.

Thanks to her lying she managed to be reasonably well accepted at school. She still had a bit of a complex and so was an attention seeker. She was put on detention many times while at school and when at home she'd boast about magical things she could do in order to be the center of attention. She couldn't wait until she turned seventeen and was able to actually demonstrate her skills to her siblings.

She completed her schooling with an acceptable number of OWLs and NEWTs but with little idea of what she wanted to do. She spent a year doing almost nothing except partying until Alex, on her dad's instructions, convinced her to get a job. She worked as a waitress at a muggle coffee shop for a while before the muggle born arrests started. She told all her friends who thought she was a half blood that she was visiting her pureblood mother in France before hiding out in Italy until the war was over. She explained to her family while she had to go but refused to tell her any details, terrified they'd be hurt if they knew anything. She mightn't like the majority of her family but she loved them none the less and so wanted to make sure they were all safe.

She lived as a complete muggle in
Italy until the war was over. She hated not being able to use her magic, especially considering that's what made her special and different. Her time in Italy consisted of a little work, just enough to make a living (thankfully she had a muggle savings account that had some money in it to help), a little sightseeing, a little shopping and a lot of partying. When she returned to England she was almost completely broke and although Ben wanted to help there was little she could do because their family had never had much money to start with and supporting four children on one income had been difficult. Even though only Genevieve still lived at home there was still little money to spare. It was time for Angela to get a serious job. She took on a casual job while she got her resume written up and started searching for a new job. Eventually she found one with Warrington and Vaisey and has been there ever since. She may not take many things seriously but Angela realises that she needs this job to live comfortably and so is a hard worker when she is at work. Co-workers, however, don't always like her because she's still an attention seeker even if she is hardworking.

Personality: Loud, attention seeking and a little self absorbed would be many peoples first impression of Angela. She always had to fight for the attention at home and she continues to do so outside her family out of both habit and want. The self absorption and volume are just tactics she uses to get the attention she wants. Other tactics include lying, trouble making and making herself had to miss by changing her appearance. She's always been happy that her hair is not blonde like her two sisters as it set her apart with out her even having to open her mouth. She’s not afraid to do whatever it takes to gain attention. This makes her unbearable to some but others may see her as fun and daring.

Despite her outward impression Angela does care what other people think of her. She was never as smart and talented as her older sister or as perfect and beautiful as her little sister and it was only her brother and her father who seemed to accept her for who she was. Her mother couldn’t even stand the fact she was a witch and despite what she’ll say, this did hurt Angela. Her mother leaving is one of the reasons she cares so much what people think of her. She tries very hard not to let people know that she cares, however, and will often laugh off insults while inwardly fighting back tears.

To her friends and those people who she really cares about she is fiercely loyal. No one can get away with insulting her brother except for her. She’s happy to whine about her sisters and parents but if anyone else says anything too horrible about them she’ll defend them (except maybe her mother). This loyalty makes her a good employee as you can be sure that if she likes her job and her employers she’ll do her best to live up to their expectations and do the job well. Although not a fan of hard work she knows it is necessary and so tries her hardest to do a good job. She might show up to work hung over on occasions but she tries not to let that affect her work. The way she sees it, at least she’s sowing up and not just taking a day off!

Her strengths are her loyalty and tenacity but her weaknesses are caring too much what other people thing, wanting to be the centre of attention all of the time and, on occasions, her loyalty. Generally Angela will do anything for some fun and attention which has earned her a reputation as a hard partier but most of what she does is just an act to cover up her insecurities about being the unwanted child.

Occupation: Works for
Warrington and Vaisey.

What does your character value the most? Attention and her brother, Alex, because he’s one of the few people who love her for who she is and who she can trust wholeheartedly.

What does your character regret? Lying about her bloodline in order to fit in and making her mother sound more glamorous than she really is.

What is your character proud of? Her results in her NEWTs. She tried really hard to do well in them and she knows she’s no Einstein so she had to study quite a bit so she’s proud of herself for achieving good results.

If you had to sum your character up into a stereotype, what would it be and why? Attention seeking whore because pretty much everything she does is to get attention.

What do you believe your character will offer to the game?

Someone who will evoke mixed reactions in people and who not everyone will like but hopefully not everyone will hate either.

SAMPLES:

First Person: Was it just me or did work just drag on and on today? I usually like work but today my head was killing me the day felt like it was never going to end. Didn’t help that I received a call from Louise before I went out last night telling me all about mum’s birthday call to her last week. I don’t want to hear about it. Ever. I know she’s perfect and that mum loves her best and mum doesn’t want to talk like a freak like me. She doesn’t have to pretend like mum even asked about me. I’m sick of it; I get enough of it from Genevieve. The day’s finished now though!! I think I’ll have to go out and celebrate! They do say more alcohol is the best hangover cure. Feel free to join me, I’ll be the one having the most fun so I should be easy to spot. It’s a work night is not a good excuse for not joining me, everyone. I’ll even make sure you don’t drink too much and you get home early so you don’t oversleep and end up late to work. Trust me, if today felt as long to any of you as it did to me you’ll need this night out. It’ll be fun!

Sylvie is proud to be part of a third person sample. And completely understands how Angela feels stuck as a middle child. ;p
