He likes talking to people and meeting new people. Not knowing someone well does not usually stop David from striking up a conversation with them, especially if he has something he wants to say. Despite his social persona, David also likes his time alone and occaisonally goes through patches where he'll withdraw himself for a day or two. This can make him appear more aloof than he really is but that's not something he really minds. An air of mystery makes anyone seem more interesting that they really are. David likes to think he's an approachable person, especially as a prefect because he can't really do a good job as a prefect if people don't feel able to come to him with problems. At the same time, while taking his prefect job seriously and encouraging people to share problems with prefects he doesn't like being involved in drama. If you have issues that cause or involve unneccessary drama then he is not the prefect for you. David would prefer all drama to be kept as far away from him as possible but unfortunatley for him this isn't always possible. Another thing David likes is making and hearing jokes. He likes it when people have a sense of humour and are able to just laugh things off. He thinks people who don't take things so seriously are less likely to be involved in useless drama. Some people would probably say that David's a little too easily amused, finding things funny that some people wouldn't. He just thinks that some things shouldnt be taken too seriously (although there are things that should be taken seriously) and that he may as well see the humour in all situations. Despite seeming easy going David is slightly pedantic about organisation. He likes to know where his books are and keep his notes in chronological order for easy reference in the future and have all his belongings organised in a way that makes them easy to find. He's not so worried with other peoples stuff being in disarray because that's their problem not his but he hates it when his own belongings are not where he expects them to be. This dislike for disorganisation may be due to his like of making the most out of every day and not wasting time. If his stuff gets disorganised he is likely to be crabby and snappy, especially if you're the cause of the mess. Despite this obsession with organisation David isn't the best at remembering things (besides where he keeps things and information for classes). If you've asked him to do something or you've arranged to meet up with him it's probably best to remind him of it a few times, especially right before the event, or else he's very likely to completely forget about it. David is an honest person, not afraid to tell people what he really thinks (unless it is going to cause drama). Although usually a good thing, sometimes this honesty can be seen as a fault for David as it means he's terrible at keeping secrets. He doesn't tell secrets for the sake of spreading gossip because he's not really interested in most gossip, he just doesn't really understand the point in telling one or two people things but not others. If it's meant to be a secret, keep it to yourself, he says. David doesn't like everybody but he puts up with most people and even if people get on his bad side they don't stay there for too long, David being terrible at holding grudges. He often forgets why he was annoyed with someone or even who he was annoyed with although sometimes he will try to pass off this forgetfulness as him just being really forgiving. All in all David likes to think he's easy going and pretty hard to faze (unless you touch his perfectly organised notes) and hopes that other people agree because its almost pointless being friendly if no one actually likes you.

notable family members & relationships with them: ALAN ROBINS Father David doesn't mind spending time with his father and gets on well with him most of the time. Despite this, he probably wouldn't go to his father for help if he needed it. ELIZA ROBINS Mother Keeps in contact with her because above all he still sees her as his mother and so does not want to cut her out of his life. He can't really claim to have much contact with her however, usually only owling her three or four times a year. DOROTHY ROBINS Sister Mostly David and Dottie get along. Although they don't always agree (especially when it comes to things like keeping in contact with their mother) their closeness in age has allowed for them to get along pretty well most of the time. marital status: Single social status: Working Class general history: David grew up living in a large cottage in Helston, Cornwall, which had been leased to his parents by his father's muggle sister Maeve. The Robins' were never really well off - having been working-class Muggles until Alan recieved his letter from Hogwarts. David's grandfather had also lost a lot of money due to a gambling addiction. Whilst not completely ruined, it was clear that if yhey were going to survive supporting two children and Eliza's invalid sister, both Alan and Eliza would have to work. Alan moved from working as a Potions researcher to a position in the Ministry of Magic that paid a great deal more while Eliza began working as an Assistant Manager at Twilfitt and Tattings five days a week. However, Eliza felt dissatisfied with the marriage and the extra strain of his inflexible schedule and newfound enthusiasm for his new work (which she hadn't expected). Alan wasn't the kind of man to bestow unending admiration and attention upon any person, and Eliza was the sort of woman who both expected and demanded it. They had a clash of personalities, which led to miscommunication. This led to a wedge in their marriage, slowly deepened over the years and eventually resulting in Eliza upping and leaving when David was eight. Apart from his mother leaving, David would have to say that he had a nice childhood. His parents may have worked a lot but he was never one to crave attention (although, a little bit is always nice, he says) and there was always Dottie if he wanted company so it never really bothered him. When David was ten his Aunt Maeve died. Although not as close to her as Dottie he always liked her cheerful personality and was saddened by her death. With his mum gone, Aunt Maeve dead and Dottie going to Hogwarts David was left with just his father. Because of this David gets on pretty well with his father. Despite being happy at home, David was looking forward to receiving his Hogwarts letter and going to school. On arrival he was sorted into Gryffindor, the same house as his sister. He did like that this meant he already knew someone in his house although he was looking forward to making friends with other members of his year and house group. David can't claim to have had an overly exciting time at Hogwarts although he has enjoyed it. He always had a knack for staying out of trouble and that coupled with his dislike of wasting time led him to be considered as quite responsible and a good student and so means that the teachers do not watch him as much as they probably would some students (such as the Marauders) which has allowed him to have quite a relaxing time at school and is also the reason why he made prefect in his 5th year. During the summer between his second and third year, his mother came back to live with his family. It was strained, and to Eliza's credit, she did try, but in the years away, Eliza and Alan mutually decided that they had grown apart and though they didn't hate each other, couldn't stay together. Eliza left again and Dottie didn't seem to take it so well. David, however, thought it was for the best. Despite missing his mother he was closer to his father anyway and his father did seem happier when he wasn't trying to play happy families with Eliza. Nowadays David doesn't talk to his mother regulary but he does send the occaisonal owl to let her know how things are going. She is, after all, still his mother.

He hated days like this, rainy mornings always ruined his morning plans. Sometimes on days like this he wished he was able to just roll over and goback to sleep but no such luck. Once David was awake he was awake and there was no getting back to sleep. He dragged himself out of bed and looked out the window, up at the sky in a desperate hope to see at least some blue. Unfortunately, it didn't look as if the weather was going to clear up anytime soon. He was just going to have to find something else to do until some other people were awake to keep him company. Maybe he could even finish his potions essay before breakfast. That would be a productive start to the morning!
