Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood: accomplished
Entry tags:!application, !info, character: fred weasley, game: 91

Full Name: Fred Gideon Weasley
Other Names: Forge, Gred, George when people get confused.
Played By:
Nick Santino I think. It's difficult to find a Fred-ish pb and James Phelps looks a bit old in most of his icons but I'm happy to reconsider if there are any better suggestions.
Date of Birth:
1st April 1978
House: Gryffindor!
Years: Started in 1989
Blood Status: Pureblood.
Family:
Parents:
Molly and Arthur Weasley
A bit of a trouble maker, Fred isn't on his parents good side all that often. He tends to enjoy seeing his parents reactions to his and George's exploits except when Molly is being particularly scary. He gets on with his dad better, just because he doesn't get mad quite as easily but he loves his mothers cooking. Fred and George enjoy messing with their parents by pretending to be each other.
Siblings: Bill Weasley
The oldest and probably coolest Weasley sibling (apart from himself and George of course).
Charlie Weasley
Also pretty cool because dragons are pretty cool. Isn't seen very often since he's off with the dragons in
Romania.
Percy Weasley
Boring. Prefect. One of Fred's favourite targets.
George Weasley
Twin, best friend and fellow trouble maker. Fred honestly doesn't know what he'd do without George.
Ron Weasley
Ickle Ronnikins is Fred's youngest brother another of his favourite targets.
Ginny Weasley
Youngest sibling and only sister. She's pretty cool (better than Percy or Ron anyway).

Despite causing trouble and enjoying picking on his family Fred does love all of them (even Percy) and is (mostly) glad he has such a large family.

Pet(s):
Ron has a rat and there's Errol the owl but Fred doesn't have any pets himself. This is probably for the best considering he and George always need something to try out new inventions on.

Hobbies: Practical jokes, making people laugh, Quidditch, causing trouble, sneaking places.
Quidditch:
He and George became beaters for Gryffindor last year and intend to keep their place on the team.

Personality:
Although people who don’t know the twins very well, or those who don’t like them, might think they are identical copies of each other personality wise as well as look wise this is not true. Of the twins Fred is the louder, more confident and more sarcastic twin. He likes to be the leader in situations and really enjoys being the center of attention. He’s also a little cocky and arrogant.

Fred is best known for being a joker and this is a main component of his personality. He enjoys having fun and making people laugh. He is a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine, as cliché as it is and as things get more and more dangerous he thinks a sense of humour is even more important. To him humour is a means of relaxing and a way to make friends easier as well as get lots of attention. Plus it’s just fun. Unfortunately, his jokes can be cruel, especially to those who Fred doesn’t like and he isn’t the most repentant person. He rarely feels sorry for those who he’s hurt through his practical jokes. Despite this lack of remorse, Fred himself is (generally) a forgiving person and is quick to jump to the defence of people he likes if he feels they’ve been unfairly attacked.

Fred prides himself on his good humour, not only in being able to tell jokes but in taking any jokes against him. Generally he lets insults slide or responds with a joke insult instead. However, he is very touchy when it comes to jibes about his family, his lack of wealth or his friends and is likely to respond harshly, with violence or with a mean prank. He is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in, even if it means getting into trouble. He figures he gets into trouble enough as it is, one more detention isn’t going to hurt. Getting into trouble really doesn’t bother Fred anymore as it happens so often that it’s just something he’s become useful. He can’t say he enjoys the things Filch makes him do in detentions though.

Although intelligent, Fred is rather lazy when it comes to doing school work. He’d rather be off having fun than writing a 3 parchment essay for class and he’d rather annoy the professors by being distracting in class than pay attention himself. Despite this, Fred does manage to get reasonably good marks in his classes, especially charms and transfiguration. He’s the type of person that if it wasn’t for his charisma and humour you’d probably hate for being able to do just as well, if not better, than you in class without actually trying. He realises his classes are important and pays attention to any thing he thinks may be able to be used in an invention in the future and does usually get his homework in on time, even if it was done five minutes before due. Classes that he thinks will have no relevance to his future, such as History of Magic, however, he rarely pays any attention to.

Fred is also somewhat of an entrepreneur, always trying to find a new way to make money, whether it be legal or illegal. For him, any money making business that he comes up with while in school is just practice for when he and George have their own company to run.

In general Fred has no respect for rules at all. If a rule is set for him then it just makes him keener to break it. It’s not that he’s purposely trying to be disrespectful just that he thinks parameters like rules are useless and that people should have the freedom to make their own decision about what they do or don’t do based on their own personal judgement.

Basically, Fred is a practical joker with a love of teasing people but a bit of a mean streak. He is fiercely loyal to those who are important to him but doesn’t really care about other peoples feelings. Generally Fred is a friendly, fun sort of guy who just enjoys a laugh, even if it is at the expense of others.

Sexuality: Heterosexual.
Past/Current Relationships:
Nothing serious.

Physical Appearance: Fred is instantly recognisable as a Weasley through the trademark red hair and freckles. He is of the shorter, stockier variety of the Weasley’s as opposed to the taller members of the family. However, he is not considered short in comparison the the rest of the population, just in comparison to some members of his family. He has blue eyes which he likes to claim always have a mischievous glint in them. Most people would say that he and George look identical but Fred doesn’t agree because to him he and George are different. Plus Fred says he’s better looking.

Affiliations: None as of yet but Fred is very anti-Voldermort and so would eagerly join any affiliation that is also anti-Voldermort.

History:
Fred was the fourth born of the Weasley family (followed very closely by George) and from a young age he realised that getting attention in such a large family would be difficult and would require some work. Thankfully this suited Fred, who liked to draw attention to himself and he and George soon discovered that they were good at making people laugh.

When he was two his younger brother Ron was born. The age gap between Percy and the twins and the twins and Ron was the same (two years) and being the closest in age Fred started to pick on those two the most, a habit that still continues. Charlie and Bill were both a little old for Fred to pick on properly, he respected both of them more than he did his other siblings because of their age. Now that Fred is older himself he does like to tease them when he gets the opportunity but those two escaped the ridicule much more than any other member of their family.

The year after Ron was born the first and only Weasley daughter was born, rounding out their number to seven. With such a large family the attention was becoming harder to get, especially with such young ones like Ron and Ginny taking up so much time and attention so Fred started stepping up his trouble making. He would ‘borrow’ his older brothers wands and cause mischief before trying to pass it off as accidental magic. His favourite story involving this kind of trouble making is from when he was five. Fred managed to take and transfigure Ron’s teddy bear into a spider, causing Ron’s phobia of spiders (something Fred is very proud of). Though, this was not an unprovoked attack, Ron did break his toy broomstick first (which might have had something to do with Fred saying how much better at flying he was than Ron but he likes to leave that bit out of the story). Incidents like this were a common occurrence with the twins around. Another favourite story of Fred’s comes from when he was seven and almost convinced Ron to take an unbreakable vow. His father’s anger at the incident still causes Fred much amusement.

Many other events of this kind occurred during Fred’s childhood and he and George were always a handful for their parents, enjoying mischief a little too much. Though, Fred thinks they shouldn’t complain too much, he and George did manage to make awful Aunt Muriel stop attending Christmas dinners.

As Fred got older his and George’s trouble making talents continued to increase and, after a family trip to Hogsmeade, the two started to aspire towards creating joke items like in Zonkos. This resulted in many worrying sounds coming from the twins bedroom as they attempted to make stuff, something they weren’t too good at at a young age but they are definitely improving.

When Fred was 9 Percy headed off to Hogwarts, leaving just himself, George, Ron and Ginny at home. With Percy gone Fred found himself getting in trouble slightly les often (Ron didn’t dob quite as much as Percy) but it also meant that Ron started getting teased a lot more often. Ginny was picked on too but not to the extent of Ron.

Finally, Fred received his own Hogwarts letter, something he was very excited about. Finally he would get his own wand and he’d be allowed to do magic at school! He and George planned on making the most of this new found freedom.

Arriving at school Fred found that his family was already well known, for both good and bad reasons. Bill, Charlie and Percy were all already at school so many people recognised him as a brother to one of those three whereas others just recognised him as a Weasley since they were a pretty well known wizarding family. Although the wait to get sorted was a bit of a pain, Fred occupied the time talking to those around him in line and trying to make them all laugh, despite a few glares and ‘shhh’s for the teachers. When it was his turn he was quickly sorted into Gryffindor, as he’d expected, and George joined him straight after. Not being shy Fred started talking the other new members of Gryffindor very quickly and it wasn’t long before he counted Lee, Angelina and Alicia as his closest friends.

Fred is still undecided on whether having one brother as head boy and another as a prefect made school easier or harder. Although it meant they knew to look out for his and George’s trouble making it also meant that Fred knew what he could get away with and what to avoid doing in front of Charlie or Bill. Despite this, Fred did manage to get himself in trouble quite frequently and by the end of his first year was no stranger to detention. During one detention he and George managed to steal what looked like an old piece of parchment from Filch’s office (Fred and George have spent a fair amount of time in Filch’s office over the years and Fred likes to pretend that himself, Mrs Norris and Filch are great friends, despite not actually liking either of them). This ‘parchment’ turned out to be one of the most useful things in helping the twins cause trouble. The map helped them avoid trouble while creating it. The two managed to have their first visit to Hogsmeade in their first year, despite not being allowed to go until third year.

Second year meant that Bill would no longer be at school with the twins. Although Fred liked his brother it was nice to have one less person on the look out for his trouble making behaviour. Although, by this stage practically everyone in the school knew about him and George. As well as this, second year was also the year that he and George got onto the Quidditch team. Fred has spent much of his childhood playing either with his toy broom when he was too young for a real one, sneaking out to try the real brooms out before his parents let him, and finally, when he was allowed to fly, going flying with George or playing games of Quidditch in the backyard with his other siblings when they were home from school and so had become quite good at flying. He really enjoyed being on the team and it helped him make even more friends, like Oliver.

Third year meant his little brother’s arrival at school, leaving Ginny at home by herself. He and George had promised to send her a toilet seat, mostly jokingly but he and George might actually do it, depending how bored they get. At the train station Ron made friends with Harry Potter and they were both sorted into Gryffindor soon after so Fred knows both of them as well as a few of the other Gryffindor first years who he made friends with/awed with his jokes at the sorting dinner. Although only two months into his third year, Fred has managed to be in trouble a few times already but he promises the troll wasn’t his fault! Although he thinks it would’ve been kind of cool if it was.

Desired Occupation:
Opening a joke shop with George would be the greatest job ever. Like Zonkos but even greater.
