Name:Fatima Cornfoot Age:16 Date of Birth: January 18th House/Former House (or school): Ravenclaw(6th year). Quidditch Team?: No Prefect?:Yes Alliance and why?: Undecided but definitely leaning towards good because she trusts her parents and they're on the good side. Occupation: Student Sexual Orientation:Heterosexual Home:Lives in Croydon. Personality: Wit and Learning is the Ravenclaw motto and Fatima fits into this well. She is quick witted, coming up with a snappy response in any situation when she needs them. She is quite proud of her wit. Probably a little too proud. She's happy to boast about it, just as she's happy to boast about the good scores that she gets in tests. People often get annoyed at her because she's boastful. She has such high standards work wise that what may seem good to some people seems bad to her so sometimes it seems as if she is looking down at people for not being as smart as her. She doesn't just get these great scores by not trying though. Although she is naturally smart, she does put a lot of work into her studies to ensure she gets marks that she and her parents would approve of. She puts a lot of time into her work, sometimes so much that she becomes a little bit of a recluse. This means that except with people she's really close with, her friendships aren't really strong because she'll choose working or reading a boo over hanging out with some of her friends. She doesn't mind doing the extra work to get good marks though as she loves being knowledgeable and not just in academic things either...
Fatima loves knowing the latest gossip. She's not the type of person who would tell everyone anything bit of gossip she hears but unless sworn to total secrecy, she will tell her close friends. Thankfully, Fatima is perceptive and can pick up on possible gossip quickly. She doesn't miss much and she can usually figure out what is going on before many people.
One thing Fatima isn't too fussed about is make up and hair charms. Her mother and her aunt both know quite a few and although they have taught her them, she doesn't often use them. Recently she's been caring more about her looks but it's not her top priority. She's not the type of person who won't leave the dormitories before putting on a whole heap of make up. It's just not her top priority. She'd rather spend the time it takes to look good studying or having fun with friends instead.
Fatima often sees her mother and Parvati together and often wishes she was a twin too. It would be fun to have a friend that was always there. For that reason she's slightly jealous of her mother and her aunt.
Likes: Fatima likes almost all schoolwork but her afvourite subject is Transfiguration. She likes it because she thinks that it's amazing how one thing can change into another with a seemingly simple swish of a wand and an incantation. She also loves to read books. She loves books that keep you thinking about them long after you've finished them. She loves her friends and her family (which is good ebcause two of her closest friends are family) and gossiping.
Dislikes: Fatima dislikes people who say idiotic things. They frustrate her to no ends. Especially since her wit is wasted on them because they often don't get it. She also dislikes divination as it's not a subject you can become good at by studying. You need the 'inner eye' which she doesn't possess. Thankfully she doesn't do this subject anymore. People who care more about their looks than anything else annoy her too, as looks aren't her top priority she can't understand how people can care so much about how they look. She doesn't think that people shouldn't try to look good, she just doesn't think it should be as important as it is for some people.
Appearance: Fatim has darkish skin and long, straight black hair wish she usually just shoves into a style each morning. Her eyes are brown and the only makeup she wears on them is a touch of mascara and even this is a recent addition. She's not perfectly skinny but she's not what you'd call fat either, just a little curvier than some. She's about 5 foot 7 in height. Her clothing style is just whatever she pulls out of her cupboard first. She does like her clothes to look good together but what she wears does not have to be the latest fashion. She's more into practicality then being fashionable. She'd choose track pants over tight jeans or a short skirt anyday. Sometimes she gets given fashionable clothing as a present so she'll wear it then but she won't stop wearing it when it goes out of fashion.

Family History: Fatima was born on the 18th of January to Stephen Cornfoot and Padma Cornfoot (nee Patil). The two of them met at Hogwarts and we're in the same year and house (go Ravenclaw!). Fatima is the only child of the two. Being an only child she sometimes got lonely, especially when she saw Padma and Parvati. She always wanted a twin sister. For this reason, her and her cousins Lali and Samir are quite close.
Anyway, her parents raised her in their house in Croyden until she was old enough to go to Hogwarts.
Personal History: Fatima was raised relatively normally. When she was old enough, Padma and Stephen hired a teacher to come and teach her 3 times a week. This wasn't enough for Fatima. On the days when the teacher wasn't there, she could often be found either reading a book or trying to teach herself from where the teacher left off. The first time Fatima showed signs of magic was at the age of 6, when the book she wanted to read was too high up on the shelf for her to reach. She called for her parents to come and get it for her but they were on the other side of the house and couldn't hear her pleas. Fatima chucked a tantrum and the next thing the book was on the floor next to her. Suddenly happy again, she picked up the book and proudly went to find her mummy and daddy to tell them about what she had managed to do.
Fatima couldn't've been happier to receive her letter to Hogwarts once she turned 11. She'd been looking forward to it since she'd been old enough to understand what Hogwarts was. It meant that she could get the full 5 days of schooling plus have the library close if she wanetd to do any extra work on the weekends. Her cousin, Lali had started the year before and her other cousin, Samir, was starting the same year as her which made the whole thing even more exciting! She was, however, quite sad about leaving her parents. She got on pretty well with them. Her dad appreciated her sense of humour and her mum appreciated her thirst for knowledge. But even the thought of not seeing her parents until the holidays wouldn't make starting Hogwarts any less exciting.
She was amazed to walk thorugh the gate to the platform and see the glittering red train in front of her. She kissed and hugged her parents goodbye then went to join her cousins on the train.
Fatima was sorted quite early in the ceremony as her last name started with C. Both her parents had been in Ravenclaw and she was hoping it would be the same for her. She was so thankful when the hat announced Ravenclaw as her house. After that her first year at Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw officially begun. Fatima had heard many stories about all the exciting things that had happened while they were at school but nothing quite as exciting as what had happened in her parents year happened in her first year happened to her, ever. It didn't mean she enjoyed Hogwarts any less though.
Her third year was one she was looking forward to because of the addition of new subjects. Her aunt Parvati had highly recommended Divination so she decided to give it a try. She stuck with it for a few weeks then decided it wasn't for her and talked to her head of house to get it swapped to Artihmancy which she found much more enjoyable.
Last year was OWLs for Fatima so she was glad nothing really exciting happened because she wanted to concentrate even harder on her studies this year. She did just that and as a result did quite well on her OWLs. This is her year between exams so she's hoping to relax slightly before next year when she'll be studying like crazy for NEWTs!
