Appearance:
Morag has long, blond hair that is naturally slightly wavy. She has gotten into the habit of using straightening charms almost everyday though so her hair is usually straight. She has green eyes and is about 5'9 in height. When not in her school robes, she likes to wear nice, warm, comfortable clothes and loves accessories such as scarves and beanies. Not only are they cute but they are great for when it gets cold. She enjoys putting on a pretty dress and looking girly but it isn't something she does very often as she likes to be practical so mostly she just wears jeans and only very basic make up.

History: Although both Brian and Sally attended Hogwarts the two didn't really know each other as more than someone they saw occasionally in corridors or the great hall. It wasn't until a few years out of Hogwarts that they actually really got to know each other. Brian was living in Scotland and Sally was there on a holiday. They met in a cafe and since they recognised each other they started up a conversation before arranging to accidentally bump into each other at the same cafe everyday until the end of Sally's holiday. Needless to say, the two were beginning to quite like each other when Sally had to return home. Only a few weeks later Brian decided to visit her in England. Soon enough the two were dating and eventually Brian moved to England permanently. After dating for a few years the two got married and had Morag just over a year into their marriage.

Morag's childhood was a reasonably normal one, although as an only child she was never left without something she needed. She wasn't a spoilt brat but she was used to getting most things that she wanted and everything that she needed. Her childhood was also filled with many trips to Scotland, to visit her father's side of the family, something that she loved. Holidays to Scotland were always one of her favourite things and she still enjoys visiting whenever she gets the chance.

When she wasn't holidaying in Scotland, Morag and her family lived in Hampshire. Morag loved visiting the nearby beaches whenever possible and always had fun playing in the water or building sandcastles when she was younger. Except for that time when she was told a story about sea foam and was scared of it for a while. But that's not something she mentions often.

Growing up in a pureblood family, Morag always knew she was a witch and so her incidents with accidental magic hardly surprised either her or her parents. Though, the latter weren't always happy with some of the things she accidentally made happen.

Despite always knowing that she was a witch and bound for Hogwarts she was still excited to receive her Hogwarts letter and couldn't wait to start. Unfortunately for her, more time at Hogwarts meant less time with friends and relatives in Scotland and she missed it. Still, she wouldn't give up her experiences at Hogwarts for anything. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there and often wishes she could go back there, even if she is slightly too old now.

Upon arrival at school, Morag was sorted into Ravenclaw, something she was very pleased about! Unfortunately, her first experience at Hogwarts was a little embarrassing, with Neville Longbottom walking off the stage with the sorting hat and leaving her standing there, waiting. She supposes it was more embarrassing for Neville, but for an eleven year old, it wasn’t exactly the best way to start at her new school. Thankfully, most things went reasonably smoothly from then on.

Her first year was reasonably uneventful, as far as life at Hogwarts goes, although she found the school fascinating. She spent her first year getting to know her fellow students, particularly those in her year and house and learning all the tricks to Hogwarts such as which stairs to avoid and the quickest routes to classes.

She thought her second year was pretty scary, especially in comparison to what her first year had been like. She heard the rumours about the chamber of Secrets being opened and was never sure if this was true or if it was just something people were making up to scare others. When students started being petrified she decided the rumours seemed more likely to be true. Although scared for the muggleborns that seemed to be getting attacked, she was extremely glad to be a pureblood and not have to worry quite so much. The situation was frightening enough without the fear of petrification. She did, however, enjoy having Lockhart as her DADA teacher. It was never one of her favourite subjects but Lockhart was so famous and pretty good looking too!! DADA became a nice distraction from the horrible things happening around the school. Still, Morag was happy for the whole Chamber of Secrets mystery to be solved, even if it meant that Lockhart had to leave the school.

By her third year, Morag was sick of the constant change in DADA teachers. She’d been here three years and while all her other teachers remained the same, this one kept changing. She thought Professor Lupin was a great teacher though and that he managed to make DADA a reasonably interesting subject. The boggart lesson was a frightening lesson though. Her boggart was of her mother and father dying. As an only child, her parents were her main family. She did visit her extended family reasonably often but without her parents then Morag would be lost. She counted on them for everything.

What Morag did enjoy about her third year, however, was the picking up of new subjects. It was this year that she started Ancient Runes, a subject that soon became her favourite.

Fourth year started off more exciting than the others, with the announcement of the Triwizard Tournament. Although not old enough to enter (not that she would've entered if she had been older) being able to watch the competition and meet foreign Wizards and Witches was quite exciting. Along with the competition was the Yule Ball. Although usually one to go home in the holidays, especially the Christmas ones, the idea of a ball made Morag want to stay. She ended up attending with a Durmstrang guy and had fun but lost contact with him not long after the end of the tournament.

Unfortunately, this year wasn't all fun and games. Tragedy struck and Cedric Diggory was dead. Morag thought she’d been scared and confused during her second year but that was nothing compared to this. Someone she knew had died! In her mind Hogwarts had always been a safe place but Cedric's death started to change her opinion of this. Although she still felt safe at Hogwarts she started to realise that bad things could happen anywhere and to anyone.

Her parents asked her if she still wanted to stay at school, even after Cedric’s death and she said she did. She still felt safer at Hogwarts than at anywhere else and she valued her education too much to give it up. She didn’t think home schooling was a viable option so she came back to school to complete her fifth year. She met her 5th DADA teacher this year and everything went downhill from there. Professor Umbridge was overly controlling and Morag sincerely disliked her. Her teaching methods were terrible and Morag found herself learning very little in the classes she had with Umbridge. This was her OWL year and she was meant to be learning as much as possible so she could do well in her OWLs. Instead, Umbridge was barely teaching anything. As OWLs approached, Morag began to panic. She knew almost nothing thanks to Umbridge. Would she be able to retake her OWLs if she failed? What if everyone failed because of Umbridge’s teaching? Would she be able to retake them then?
Thankfully, things weren’t as bad as Morag was making them out to be. A lot of good studying and paying attention in class helped Morag score very well on her OWLs. But for once the ever changing DADA teacher was a good thing, Morag was extremely glad to not have her again in her sixth year.

As a year without OWLs or NEWTs to worry about Morag found sixth year more relaxing. She also dropped a few subjects (Herbology, CoMC and Muggle Studies) but continued with DADA even though she didn’t particularly enjoy it. She was starting to realise that this type of education would probably be more useful in the real world than a lot of other subjects. Plus, Umbridge was gone so the class couldn’t be that bad, right?

Of course, Morag wasn’t expecting Snape to be made the new DADA teacher. Not that she’d ever really had too many problems with Snape in the past. He wasn’t exactly friendly to her but he didn’t pick on her as much as he picked on others. She usually just laid low in class and did what he asked to try and avoid being picked on so Snape being her DADA teacher didn’t really bother her that much. Slughorn being potions teacher was interesting however. Although never asked to join the Slug Club, Morag did hear a bit about it and so tried extra hard in potions for that year as she wanted to see what this club was like. She’d heard mixed reports and wanted to be able to make up her own mind about it. She never got that opportunity, however, but she got over it quickly as she realised there were way more important things in life than just being part of a special club.

Dumbledore’s death helped to reinforce this thought about the important things in life. If Morag had thought Cedric’s death was bad well, this was so many times worse.

After this death, Morag thought hard about whether or not she should return to the school. Did she really want to be there without Dumbledore there? Who would be the new Headmaster? Was it still safe there? Would her family be okay while she was at school? Eventually Morag decided to return because she really wanted to say that she’d finished her schooling and done her NEWTs and most importantly, to spend more time with her friends. With the way the world seemed to be at the moment Morag wasn’t sure how much longer all her friends would be around for so spending as much time with them as possible seemed to be the best idea.

Personality: Morag would be what most people would call normal. She's just a normal, nice girl, there's nothing overly special about her. She likes having fun but isn't one for obscene amounts of drinking or partying (although she says she can plan a great party, if you need). As a Ravenclaw she is pretty bright and does put quite a bit of effort into her studies. She also always gets a little stressed before exams, no matter how much preparation she's done, always feeling like she could've done more to be more prepared.

Sweet and kind would be some of the first thoughts people would have of Morag. She tries to be nice to most, unless they're unpleasant to her or her friends first. Although she tries not to be preachy, she does sometimes get annoyed when people are purposely unfriendly or mean to people without and just reason and has been known to try and convince people to at least attempt to be nicer sometimes. She is an extremely loyal friend who tries to always be there for them when they need her. She will also stand up for her friends if she thinks someone is not being fair to or about them. She enjoys being nice, not only for the sake of it but sometimes being nice can help. If you're a nice person and you need help later on, someone is more likely to want to help (theoretically) so while mostly a selfless thing, she does get personal gain for it (alongside the great feeling you get from knowing you're mostly a great person). With those she's close to (and sometimes those she's not if she's in a playful mood) she can be quite silly and really enjoys teasing her friends and herself. She even uses the fact that people think she's really nice to make fun of herself ("I'm too nice to do something like that! I'm just such a lovely person."). She likes to think she's got a good sense of humour, although sometimes she probably finds herself funnier than anyone else does. She does enjoy a bit of a snark sometimes but only in good humour. She shies away from conflict and would rather smooth things over than stir things up, unless she's just teasing.

Morag strongly dislikes people who give purebloods a bad name by being elitists. She finds muggles quite interesting herself, although has very limited knowledge of their culture, and doesn't think that muggleborns or halfbloods should be deemed lesser because they're not pure enough. She also doesn't like it when people generalise about purebloods. Not all purebloods are elitists and she hates that just a select few can give them such a bad name. Although happy to say she doesn’t care about blood, she is grateful for her own status as pureblood and so despite thinking the elitist way of thinking is wrong she rarely stands up to the people who actually have these views.

Her greatest weakness would have to be in her lack of courage. Although standing up to people isn't an issue, other types of confrontations aren't really her thing and she'd prefer to avoid them if possible. She knows that there's really dangerous stuff happening but she'd rather not have to actually do anything to help fight the dark wizards. Despite hating pureblood clichés, she is relying on herself being a pureblood to get her through anything that might happen unscathed. She would like to be able to have the courage to help people but she doesn't think it will happen and she does feel bad about that. She's the type of person who feels guilty easily too, and so apologises quite frequently if she feels she's done something wrong or feels as if someone’s been hurt by her actions.

In general, Morag is a kind, cheerful, dependable, normal person who enjoys a bit of a laugh.

What are the character's views on the war? She doesn't agree with any of the 'purebloods are better' stuff and thinks it's all pretty stupid. However, she also thinks war is terrifying so she's not really very vocal about her views.

If the character is not returning due to the arch, how are they going to be affected by the fact that people are? She doesn't really know any of the returning people that well but she will be happy if friends relatives or friends come back to life. Plus it's reassuring to know that maybe death isn't so permanent. She does think it's a really strange occurence though!
