Appearance: Saoirse prides herself on being pretty and is always well groomed. She has long brown hair which is naturally wavy but that she does use straightening charms on occasionally. Not too often though because they can totally dry out your hair and cause split ends and other gross stuff. She has brown eyes and her dress style changes to suit the latest wizarding trends.
History: Moira and Evander were never in love, nor are they in love now. Moira married for money and Evander married for blood. Despite this, the two managed to get along most of the time but they were always more like friends then they were a married couple. Not very close friends at that.
Despite not being in love, the two realised that having children was an important thing and so started trying for one soon after getting married. Unfortunately they were not very successful and it took many failed attempts and a miscarriage before Saoirse was born.
So happy to finally have a child, Saoirse was doted on from the very start. Moira and (Evander might not have loved each other but they definitely loved their daughter and both wanted to be the one who Saoirse liked more so would both give her everything she wanted. Unfortunately their way of showing love was a very materialistic way, neither of her parents being overly affectionate people. This has made Saoirse materialistic too and not very good at being affectionate.
Although very happy to have a daughter, Evander still really wanted to have a son to carry on the Capper name. Moira and Evander started trying for another child but this time they were even more unsuccessful and never managed to have another child at all.
From about age five Saoirse knew that her parents wanted a son, although she didn’t understand the reasoning yet, but being a bit of a selfish person she really enjoyed being an only child and was happy every time she heard that she still wouldn’t be getting a sibling.
Throughout Saoirse’s childhood both she and her parents knew she was a witch, being a pureblood, but she never seemed to actually show any signs of magic. Leading up to her eleventh birthday her parents started to worry that she was a squib. They were very relieved when her letter arrived, confirming that she was actually a witch. Saoirse was never worried about being a squib, however, as she was more aware of the more subtle uses of magic that she had been performing that her parents had not noticed.
Arriving at Hogwarts Saoirse was promptly sorted into Slytherin with little deliberation from the hat. She was always fussy about her friends, mainly choosing to spend time with like minded purebloods and the occasional halfblood. She tried to ignore the muggleborns as much as possible, unless insulting them. However, she was more often covertly mean to them than she was openly mean.
Although she mostly enjoyed the learning at Hogwarts and did like the friends she did have, she wasn’t so fond of having to interact with muggleborns on a regular basis and was always happy when it was holiday time again. Because of this, she was not sad to be leaving Hogwarts.
Once she had graduated, Saoirse was sure that she wanted to be a Death Eater. Her father was one and so being one herself would impress her father and show that she was as capable as a son. She was branded not long after she finished school and although happy to be a Death Eater, she does wish that the mark could either be smaller or in a different place. It really doesn’t go with some of her outfits!
As well as becoming a Death Eater (and successfully completing a few tasks, she’ll inform fellow Death Eaters and her father proudly), Saoirse has started working part time at Twilfit & Tatting’s and is currently dating fellow Death Eater Miles Bletchley.
Personality:
Appearances, both how she looks and how others perceive her, are extremely important to Saoirse. She likes to be immaculately groomed and dressed in the nicest robes with her hair and makeup looking perfect at all times. She’s vain and materialistic and really, really loves shopping. Luckily, her parent’s bank account has always been able to support this and she doesn’t plan on having to be financially independent ever. When in public Saoirse likes to act like the perfect, polite pureblood and has been known to host gatherings such as tea or garden parties with other worthy purebloods. Connections are important after all! Plus playing the perfect host can be fun, especially when people talk about how great you and the event were afterwards. Even though she is polite in public, around those she is comfortable Saoirse does enjoy complaining, gossiping and bitching about friends, acquaintances and people she doesn’t really even know. Hearing and spreading new gossip is one of her favourite past times.
Saoirse is extremely intelligent but she doesn’t let many people know this. She’s happy to play the shopping obsessed airhead (especially since she does actually really enjoy shopping) as she thinks it’s easier to get away with doing Death Eater type things when no one suspects you of being intellectually capable of completing many of the tasks.
Growing up Saoirse was given everything she wanted exactly when she wanted it. All she had to do was say ‘Daddy I want that! Now!’ and it would be hers. Although not a child anymore, she still expects to be handed everything and anything she wants within moments of requesting it. Even though her father isn’t always around to buy her everything now she still manages to achieve this, through a variety of strategies. Whether it be simply by asking or by pouting, demanding, blackmailing, manipulating or begging she still manages to get what she wants the majority of the time. Being able to have things when she wants them has made her terribly impatient and she does not like having to wait for anything.
Although sure her parents love her, Saoirse has always thought that her dad would’ve probably preferred a son over a daughter. A son, after all, can carry on the family name and would probably be better at succeeding in any missions the Dark Lord may set. This is her biggest insecurity as well as being her greatest motivator. She tries extremely hard to be every bit as good as a son could have been and is determined to do well in her life. Despite not being able to continue the Capper blood line herself, she does intend to marry a pureblood so that the line will still always be pure.
Saoirse likes to think of herself as a courageous person, despite it being a trait commonly associated with Gryffindors. Although many things are just handed to her on a silver platter there are some things she works hard for and at, such as her social standing and making her dad proud, and she hates giving up without achieving what she wants. She can be stubbornly determined and this usually seems to pay off.
What are the character's views on the war? It’s an important thing, Muggleborns aren’t as good as purebloods and that should be made clear by any means. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to prove how capable she is to her father and that’s really what she cares about most.
If the character is not returning due to the arch, how are they going to be affected by the fact that people are? You mean all those people the Dark Lord and the Death Eaters killed are coming back to life? That's just inconvenient and means that all that time spent killing them was a waste. Hopefully they won't stay alive long anyway. Any Death Eaters that come back to life should be good though, they could be very useful.
Third Person Sample: 300-500 words showing how your character would act in the environment of the game.
Sometimes Saoirse wondered why she even bothered having a job. She didn’t need the money and she definitely didn’t like having to deal with customers like the one she had currently. The witch she was serving had tried on robes much too small for her and in a colour that really didn’t suit her complexion. Saoirse was torn between lying and saying they looked amazing on her just to get the sale over and done with or telling her the truth and helping her find something more acceptable to try and prevent anyone else having to see such a horrible sight.
“That looks marvellous on you,” she lied. “But I think I know something that might look better. The style of robe you’re wearing right now is starting to go out of fashion but we just got a new style in that I think you would look fantastic in. Let me just grab one for you,” she said as she started searching through the racks for something that would look better on the witch.
“Here,” she said eventually, pulling one off the rack and quickly changing the size on the tag to match the size of the robes she was currently wearing before handing them to the woman. It was ridiculous how some people wouldn’t admit what size they really were and kept trying to squeeze into things too small. Saoirse had learnt from experience that if she just tried to give people their actual size they’d claim it was too big.
She scanned through the racks for anything that she herself might like as she waited for the witch to get changed. “Stunning!” she informed her as she exited the change room. The witch wasn’t exactly the prettiest lady in the world but these robes were definitely an improvement on the others.
After some more compliments from Saoirse, the lady had decided to buy the robes. Maybe she didn’t need a job but she was certainly good at it! Now where were the robes that lady had discarded? They’d actually been very nice and in her size so Saoirse was sure they’d look amazing on her. She’d just have to put them aside to stop any other customers from trying to buy them.
