This is really just for my own reference so I know what’s going on with Morag. So when I was doing the 100 questions (which I never finished actually. One day I should do that) I said that Mo slept with family friend Lachlann in the summer between 6^th and 7^th year. Which is when Riptides is currently set. So anyway, she usually spends some of her holiday time in Scotland with her dad’s side of the family and that’s where Lachlann lives. But it’s getting close-ish to the end of the holidays now so she’s be back in Hampshire because she always goes back so she can get organised and get her books and pack etc. Which means her thing with Lachlann would be over now. I could have it still going but he’s older so once Mo’s back at school she won’t have much of a chance to see him and I don’t think she ever thought of it as more than a summer fling type thing. Which kind of makes me wonder why she slept with him because she’s not really into the not serious relationship type thing. But I figure she’s known him practically forever, summer holidays are pretty long so they could’ve had a month or so of kind of dating and she is Sylvie Fawcett’s best friend. Not that Sylvie’s activities have an effect on how she thinks she should do things but I think it would have made her see that sex doesn’t have to be something hugely important. Or something. Idk. Anyway, she would’ve recently slept with him and then she would’ve told Sylvie because there’s very little she doesn’t tell Sylvie. And then she was probably planning on telling Stephen but now that he apparently has secrets she wants to have secrets too. Because even Mo can be petty like that. If it ever came up she wouldn’t lie about it though. Same with Mandy, she’d tell her if it came up but otherwise wouldn’t mention it. So really only Sylvie would know. The others probably wouldn’t even know she was kind of dating him because it wasn’t anything serious so she would’ve mentioned spending time with him but that’s about it.

Anyway, re: Stephen having secrets and Mo being really gossipy about that. At first I thought it was a little weird then I remembered that Mo had always enjoyed some gossip! She is a teenage girl after all. Like, at MW I remember doing a thread where she and Mandy were gossiping about all sorts of stuff and another with her and Susan doing similarly. Then at MD she and Sylvie would discuss Patrick O’Malley and all that sort of stuff or even Lockhart in that 2^nd year thread we did. Even though I think it’s a side of her that’s more pronounced when she’s younger I realised it is there when she’s older too. Like her and Stephen and their Poliakoff/Sexy Spaniard stuff, even if they were just being silly, or her and Rose and weird sister/Zinnia gossip. I guess it’s just not really something I’d paid much attention to before but it is something she enjoys as long as it’s not nasty.

Anyway, it’s interesting playing teenage Morag again because she’s back at the age she was when I first played her and that’s exciting! Plus with the exception of undertakers where she was 19 and 91 where she was 12 I haven’t really played her not as an adult for a while. It’s interesting seeing the difference between her at different ages, even if they are only subtle.
